AC Milan officially entered esports on November 2, 2020, by announcing a partnership with Italian organization QLASH. The collaboration creates a co-branded team, AC MILAN QLASH, which will compete initially in EA SPORTS’ FIFA and the mobile title Brawl Stars. This venture marks the Serie A club’s first foray into competitive gaming as part of its broader modernization strategy.

Partnership and Team Structure

The agreement is a joint venture rather than a takeover or acquisition. Financial terms were not disclosed. The team will participate in the eSerie A TIM, the esports equivalent of Italy’s top football league, as well as the wider FIFA Global Series. In Brawl Stars, AC MILAN QLASH will field competitors for the World Finals in November 2020. QLASH’s Broader Portfolio

QLASH is a multi-game organization with teams in titles such as Fortnite and StarCraft II, having previously exited Call of Duty and League of Legends earlier in 2020. Notably, this is not QLASH’s first football club partnership: Inter Milan signed a similar deal with QLASH in February 2020, competing in both FIFA and eFootball PES.
